In place of a guest post this week, we thought we would share a fabulous project we worked on with the Washington Post Express publication: creative vintage storage ideas!
Space for storage is almost always an issue in the older houses around this area (and everywhere) – they have tiny closets and very little built-in storage. So, how do we create storage that is still beautiful, interesting, and adds style to a room? By using vintage pieces like crates, industrial-style roller racks, and re-purposed china cabinets!
For this piece with Washington Post Express, we re-purposed a vintage china cabinet and turned it into a fab shoe closet. By adding extra shelving and displaying colorful shoes, it creates not only storage but something really pretty to look at. Here are a few fabulous vintage pieces in the shop & at Rough Luxe next month that would make perfect vintage storage pieces.
See the blue china cabinet with shoes displayed? So cute!
And here are a few inspirations we found on Pinterest for how to use vintage pieces – like an old drawer as a bookcase – and vintage suitcases as drawers!
You can find tons of fabulous vintage storage options at the shop and February’s Rough Luxe Market.
Do you have any creative storage ideas that you have used in your home? Send them to us here: press@stylishpatina– we’d love to see your ideas!
