If you haven’t tackled the exterior of your home for the holidays, I have been pulling together a Pinterest Board full of holiday decorating inspiration. You can see it here.
I tend to be pretty traditional when it comes to exterior decorating. My must-haves are:
1 – Fresh garland, ideally a mix with boxwood so there is extra texture
2 – I love holly for the pop of red in an arrangement
3 – Great big fat ribbon; I tend to lean towards the Ralph Lauren plaid and velvet
4 – Adding in a bit of shimmer where you can is a must think silver and golds
5 – Incorporate a vintage sled or other unexpected elements
Deborah of The Little Garden Spot did the flowers for our Vintage Rental open house, and she did these gorgeous interior and exterior displays. I really adore how she did our window boxes. This is just a mix of greenery; however, the texture of the different greens makes a gorgeous display.
We added a bit of vintage flavor by using vintage silver and china to hold many of the bouquets. This is great for the holidays as well as a wonderful idea for weddings.
I have a collection of vintage sleds (of course I do). An easy idea to get a little holiday spirit is to hang these on the wall or tie some greens with a big bow, and you are done!
Hope to see you all at Rough Luxe this weekend! We are open Fri-Sun and are providing hot coco and treats on Saturday from 10-2 pm! See some of the pictures on FB for Rough Luxe; the theme is DECK THE HALLS!
A few more inspirational pictures for you.
