This past weekend, we held our very FIRST workshop incorporating General Finishes Milk Paint into our Painting Furniture 101 class. It was loads of fun being able to show people the differences between General Finishes and Jolie Paint. We’ll be featuring more General Finishes products in our blog posts, so stay tuned for those! In the meantime, enjoy this quick and easy makeover using General Finishes products from Karin at Art is Beauty!
The products that were used include:
- General Finishes Milk Paint in Queenstown Grey and Persian Blue
- General Finishes Brown Mahogany Gel Stain
- General Finishes Gel Topcoat
Before
After cleaning and lightly scuff sanding, Karin applied Persian Blue to the whole piece except for the top, which she applied Queenstown Grey to. To darken the top, she then lightly applied Brown Mahogany Gel Stain over top of the Queenstown Grey. For protection and durability, the Gel Topcoat was applied over the gel stain.
Brown Mahogany Gel Stain applied over Queenstown Grey (left), then top-coated using Gel Topcoat to protect the surface (right).
Here it is all finished! Such an easy way to take a tired, old wood finish and freshen it up. Great job, Karin!
