Since we first posted Margo on Instagram, we’ve had so many people reach out about her, wanting to take her home. And we don’t blame them, she’s a beautiful piece. Especially now that she has been given a fresh new look using Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan in Aubusson Blue, which just happens to be one of our favorite colors here in the store! (Side note: it looks beautiful mixed with Florence to create a deep teal color). Margo’s new owners saw all the potential we did and chose this bold hue, opting for a modern finish and painted hardware. She has been sealed with clear wax for a lasting finish.
To achieve this modern finish, Tricia, one of our Painters in Residence, watered down the paint and applied four light coats, using one of Annie Sloan’s synthetic brushes. After the last coat, she used extra find sand paper to smooth out the surface until it was buttery smooth. Doesn’t Margo look beautiful?!
