Meet Old Violet Chalk Paint®, by Annie Sloan

Like deep Parma violets or blue lavender, Old Violet is a wonderful 18th Century color inspired by the colors of ancient Rome. Beautiful on its own or paired with red for a little Parisian boho. Old Violet is a great pastel color that can make any room look beautiful.

This picture was posted by @soldier58llc on Instagram! This large provincial style dresser is painted beautifully and offers a ton of storage for you. The artist painted this dresser in Old Violet Chalk Paint®. The details on the dresser are painted with Paris Grey Chalk Paint as well. Once all the top coats were finished the dresser was then finished off with Black Chalk Paint® Wax by Annie Sloan, which created the smokey finish. The hardware is all original and it has been lightly dusted with Annie Sloan’s Dark Silver Guilding Wax which creates a shiny appearance.

Check out these amazing projects using Old Violet! I have an entire PIN BOARD dedicated to this color if you want to check it out. Here is a sneak peek of our board below. Are you feeling excited to start your own DIY using Old Violet?

Don’t forget how easy Chalk Paint by Annie Sloan is to use, NO PREP NO PRIMING needed. Just pop the top and go! Check out the Annie Sloan YouTube page for some video with Annie herself.
