Cassie, one of our fabulous dealers at the barn and the writer of the blog Primitive & Proper, introduced me to her neighbor who is very handy. I had been collecting doors at the barn and had all of these wonderful ideas in my head about how to make them into tables and other cool things. The problem? I just didn’t have the time or space to build them myself. In comes Travis (Cassie’s neighbor)… my savior and now go-to guy for all projects:-)

I know I have done a post on repurposing doors before, BUT these are projects Travis and I are working on together, and you can actually see and buy them at the barn! This will be a multi-project post, but I am just so excited about how they are turning out I couldn’t help but share.

I had multiple of these very large 100 + year doors, so I had Travis make one into a table {which will eventually have glass inserts, I hope} to level the table out for a dining room, office or craft surface. The other door he made into a hallway tree for coats, etc. I will be painting this one and adding hooks to the door so as you walk in you can hang coats and drop bags!

Here are a couple of initial pictures of the two projects. The table will be finished and is going into the new show space at the barn. Yep, we are adding more retail space….I am going to open up the little cottage behind the main barn starting in January!

The third project was a smaller shutter (I think) that had beautiful natural patina. I fell in love with the color, a lovely aged green. We decided to use four vintage legs to create this wonderful little table. I see it being used as a desk or hall table in someone's home. Here is a picture of this little guy in the work area; it too will be at the barn this month.
