Apparently there is a rumor going around town and on the internet. I received a couple of emails in the last week asking if the shop is closing down for a while. Apparently someone has reached this conclusion on their own because the answer is 100% no. The shop is not closing or cutting back the number of days we are open. Just because I am welcoming two bundles of joy into our life doesn’t mean anything is changing with the business. If anything, I have plans for expansion in the coming year.
For those of you who have been with me since the beginning, know that I gave up an executive position in Corporate America to start the business. My husband and I are a dual-income family by necessity. Stylish Patina is not a hobby for me; it’s a business that supports our family financially. I am grateful that owning my own business will provide me with more schedule flexibility when raising my children, as well as the fact that I have my fabulous mother who lives down the street. As for the details of child care for the twins, that is a personal decision that won’t necessarily be shared on the blog.
I have a staff of 3 amazing girls that have all been with me for over a year plus. Sarah is our new manager in the shop & rough luxe market, Laura has been with me since we opened the shop, and she manages all of our custom paint transformation projects, and Heather is our craft maniac! All 3 of the girls are paint experts and fully versed in all aspects of the shop. They are there to help you with your paint projects or to assist you in picking out a gift. MARK YOUR CALENDARS – We are getting really excited about Rough Luxe market this month (Sept 19-21). The theme is Shades of Gray. We have tons of gorgeous pieces painted and refreshed for you to place in your home at amazing prices. Pictures will be shared next week. We have everything from dressers to dining tables to beds! I have already started ordering for the upcoming holidays and can’t wait to share the new inventory with you as it comes in.
