The Best products to paint furniture + kitchen cabinets
We have 3 DIY paint lines you can buy online and in the store with us: Jolie Matte Paint, the Premier Chalk Style Paint, General Finishes Paint, and One Hour Enamel Paint by Wise Owl. See below for a few tips on selecting your products for your next project.

Jolie Matte Paint
1. Jolie Matte Paint – This is my first recommendation for new furniture/DIY home project users. You can find all of our FREE downloadable resource guides. It is the easiest to use, sticks to anything (wood, metal, cement, laminants, etc.), no priming, no sanding. You just pop the top and go. You now have two options for sealing it: 1. Furniture wax or 2. varnish (poly) that comes in a low luster or gloss sheen. This line is great for furniture, kitchen cabinets, floors, bathroom vanities, and so much more. Classic Navy is the color used.
General Finishes Paint
2. General Finishes (GF) – We like the Milk Paint from the GF line for modern-looking furniture. This line is also pretty easy to use. It’s thinner, so be careful for drips, and you might want to scuff up furniture before painting. This is usually sealed with the GF high-performance top coat that comes in flat, satin, semi-gloss, and gloss sheen. GF also has a cool product called Gel Stain that can give new life to table tops or any surface you want to keep the wood grain look but don’t want to sand, stain, and seal.

One Hour Enamel by Wise Owl
3. Wise Owl One Hour Enamel – This is a new line for us. The One Hour Enamel product is getting rave reviews for cabinetry. It is known for its rock-hard finish in one hour and no top coat needed (it’s built into the paint). You do need to clean your furniture well before using it and use two coats of their primer before applying the paint. They also recommend 24 hours between primer + paint, so it takes longer to finish a project. I also found that you don’t want to overbrush the paint; it dries fast, so you need to apply it and leave it alone. It is supposed to self-level (the brush strokes go away). This is the most tricky paint line we have but still doable, and the finish is beautiful! Great for cabinets, tables, vanities, floors.
