I adore a little vintage washstand. They usually have beautiful lines and are great functional pieces for us today. I have seen them used as nightstands, TV stands, even a “catch-all” to drop keys and place mail on in a foyer.
This little guy was in rough shape, BUT I saw potential.
Before
The veneer was coming off the door, so I used some wood glue and clamps to get that secured back in place. Then I decided to use some Annie Sloan Chalk Paint colors I don’t usually paint with – Scandinavian Pink and French Linen (which is new).
I did a base coat in the pink and also painted the inside of the drawer in the pink as well. Then I did a lovely coat of French Linen. Finally, I applied clear wax by Annie Sloan, lightly distressed the edges and buffed her up and she was finished. I’m calling her Grayson.
